Genins

Genins (Asiatic Acid & Madecassic Acid)

Asiatic Acid (30%)

Strengthens the skin barrier, soothes irritated skin, antioxidant, acts as anti- photoaging agent.

Madecassic Acid (40%)

Soothes, makes pimples and pigment shifts fade, has a gentle effect on acne and its long-term signs.

Photoaging is the premature aging of the skin caused by repeated exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV) primarily from the sun but also from artificial UV sources. Photoaging differs from chronological aging: the damaging effects of UV rays from the sun or artificial tanning sources alter normal skin structures.

Research has indicated that Asiatic Acid and Madecassic acid can be used to treat photo-aging skin. This is largely due to the enhancing effect that it has on collagen.

Genins Reports

Asiatic acid is an isolated and purified triterpenic acid of Centella asiatica leaves. It is recommended for skin care, anti-aging and replumping thanks to its proven efficacy on GAGs (glycosaminoglycans), on proteoglycan release, on collagen synthesis activation and on antimicrobial activity.

In an in-vitro (made in the lab) studies show that Asiatic Acid also stimulates GAGs (glycosaminoglycans - polysaccharides that are part of the liquidy stuff between our skin cells) production as well as collagen I synthesis.
